*KING PALM, latin name: Archontophoenix cunninghamiana RARE "Illawara" Cold Hardy Variety***3 Palm Special*** *This is the COLD HARDY variety of the famous King Palm. Native to Australia, common name King Palm, Piccabeen or Bangalow. Kings are a fantastic addition to any landscape, namely because of their fast growth rate and tropical appearance. Smooth gray to white trunk, self cleaning(meaning minimal maintenance because older leaves naturally fall off), lime-green crownshaft, and elegant arching leaves. Once established they produce beautiful creamy-white flowers, and red fruit. Highly adaptable to shade or full sun, and even do well indoors with ample light. An excellent palm to plant in groups. Highly recommended to plant these as multiples, especially triples, as the trunks will naturally arch away from one another providing that tropical ambiance to your landscape. COLD HARDY to 22 degrees Farenheit, will reach heights of 30-40 feet. *You are bidding on (3) palms, 5-8 inches tall, 1-2 leaves, and a healthy root system. *To SAVE on PLANTS and SHIPPING, check out our BUY 3 and SAVE *For more great deals on rare plants, please Visit My eBay Store: Coconut Climber ***Most of our plants have been cold tested down to 40 degrees farenheit or lower, creating a much stronger, hardier, and tougher plant. ---BEWARE---Avoid palms grown in HAWAII, or very tropical locations, where they have never experienced any cold, will often die during transport, or from weather shock. Palms from locations like Hawaii can take several months to a year to acclimate from very tropical growing conditons, if ever. It is best to avoid these weaker untested tropical grown plants*** *Once palms arrive, they will benefit from being kept in a 1 gallon container, slightly moist, warm, and in a fast draining soil, such as Supersoil, or a quality Cactus-Mix(available at any Home Improvement or local Nursery Supply Center) . Any of the following ingredients such as pumice, small bark chips, perlite, wood shavings, vermiculite, and coarse sand can all be used to benefit good drainage. Seedlings typically favor shade, filtered sun, or partial sun until established(approx. 2' tall or larger), when they can handle more sun. These palms should be planted at a soil height where the roots graduate from the base. Whether you are a 'green thumb' or a beginner, these are easy palms to grow, and will beautify your landscape. *All palms are shipped bare-root, packed with the roots blanketed in moist sphagnum moss and wrapped in bundles surrounded with aluminum foil to ensure the best health for the plants. Shipping is via U.S. Postal Service Priority Mail, shipped on Monday or Tuesday, arriving in 1-3 days. *If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask. Or, if you are looking for other palms, rare, unique, or common, let us know as we grow over a 100 species from seed.
