Red Acre Cabbage
You are bidding on a lot of 25 cabbage seeds
The heads are deep red, globe shaped, 6 to 7 inches in diameter. A colorful addition to a garden landscape. Red Acre stores better than most early cabbage. Approximately 77 days to maturity from transplant. This variety is resistant to cabbage yellowing and is great for small plots as it takes up less space than other cabbage varieties. It is great is soups, salads, or just raw! Red Acre Cabbage stores well, and is a wonderful heirloom variety for your garden.
The gorgeous purple-ish red spheres add color and cheer to your garden. Harvest time is 75 days. Plant outdoors in a sunny location in well-drained soil where no members of the cabbage family were grown the year before. As we have found out, this is good advice.
Growing instructions
Start seed indoors up to 8 weeks before last frost in pots, or sow directly into the garden after danger of serious frost has passed.
Cover seeds with 1/8 inch of fine soil.
Space plants 18 to 24 inches apart in rows spaced 2 to 3 feet apart depending upon available room.
Transplant seedlings indoors after first pair of true leaves have developed. Transplant indoor started seedlings after hardening off and danger of serious frost has passed.
7 to l0 day germination time. Keep soil moderately moist during germination.
